School council

Coppice School Council

Our school council is made up of two class council representatives from each class in the school, Year 1 to Year 6.

To become a school council representative pupils have to be nominated and prepare and deliver a speech outlining why the class should vote for them and what they would like to develop in the school.  After the speeches have been delivered, each class votes anonymously for the best candidates, and the representatives are elected.

The school council meets every other Friday with Miss Jephson.  We talk about issues raised in class council meetings and whole school issues.  So far the school council has chosen equipment for the trim track, ordered equipment for the toy box at lunchtime, carried out parking patrols outside school to discourage parents from parking in the bus bay and on the zig zag lines.  The school council also run a very successful healthy tuck shop and stationary shop.
