4 Oct 2007 - Athletics competition

On the 4th of October 2007, Coppice school went to an Athletics competition at Charles Hill in Loscoe. There were 2 competitions going on, a small schools competition, which were 3 schools competing, not us!, and a medium schools competition with 4 schools in, which we were in. there were a few year fives in our group and some year sixes. There was meant to be 8 girls and 8 boys in our team, however, we only managed to get 6 boys and 5 girls to compete with us. We did an obstacle course, a sprinting one and a hurdles race. Meanwhile, when some of our people were doing those races the others were on the other side of the room doing out door athletics. In the out door athletics section there was long jump, a thing where you had to jump either side of this yellow sticky bit as many times as you can in 15 seconds, and a sit and through. Finally, at the very end, after we did javelin, we got told our scores. Due to all our hard work we had come third, out of the 4 teams, and got our certificates the very next day in assembly.


The people who were part of our team, out of year 6, are Jodie Harvey, Kerryn Jackson, 6, James Parkin, Farren Cox, Jade Gerrard and Emma Thornley. Out of year 5 there was Gaia Raso, Jordan Bonser, Talan Hotchkiss and Thomas Campbell.
