Fire! Fire!
This half term our topic title is 'Fire! Fire!' Through our topic work we will be finding out about The Great Fire of London and the Gunpowder Plot. We will also be learning about electricity and how to keep safe along with building our own circuits. Through our artwork we will be creating fire pictures in response to artwork depicting the fire and reproducing an electrical image to explore the different ways in which the image could be assembled, in terms of orientation, colour, pattern and design.
During our Big Writing sessions we will be writing a newspaper article on The Great Fire and writing a diary extract as Samuel Pepys.
In ICT we will be creating firework pictures. We will select and use simple tools (pen, brush, fill, and spray) in our mark making and understand that work can be easily amended and ideas can be tried out without spoiling earlier versions.
During PSHE we will be looking at the unit ‘Getting on and falling out’ and covering work on anti-bullying.
We will be doing lots of RE work on Christmas and music through our nativity play ‘The Stars come out for Christmas’.
We will have PE on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and we will be doing games and dance. Please ensure that earrings are taken out on these days and long hair is tied back.
